For the week following the missionary retreat I was blessed
to spend time in Swaziland! This is a
small country land-locked in South Africa.
The Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College has been in Swaziland for many years
and its ministry is comparable to Pilgrim Wesleyan Bible College in Zambia. It was a great learning experience for me to
see the similarities and differences between the two colleges and
cultures, as well as a blessing to live life
with the missionaries who serve there- Dorcas Croft and her son Mathias and
Fred and Carol Cromer.
For part of my time in Swaziland Carol taught me to use the
Dewey Decimal System to classify and catalogue books. I will be passing on the skills I learned to
the librarian at PWBC so that she can continue to add new books to the library
as they come in. It sure is a different
world to not have a computer system for cataloging!!
Other notable parts of the week included a lunch out where
we visited a Swazi Candle Factory- the pictures tell the story! I also enjoyed
playing lots of games with everyone, including hours of very competitive “Go
Fish” with 8 year old Mathias J
